The innovation in Hip-Hop music has always emerged through a new dialogue between technology and the body. Moving the record while the needles is still on, playing two records back and forth, tapping beats out without quantization, rapping directly into autotune – all lead to distinct new styles, but not because of technological wizardry but rather through a new bodily relationship with technology.
